William’s condition, update 8

The best news of the week so far is two-fold:

  1. Dr. Burge said we are done with his antibiotic treatments!
  2. Doctor even pulled out his pic line!

Will’s feeling like a free man now that there aren’t tubes dangling out of his arms. We do need to watch the next 72 hours carefully for any signs of the meningitis repeating itself now that he’s off the meds. His body is going to see how it’ll do without treatment. Personally, I want to put him in a bubble and never let him out of my sight but I don’t think that would be the wisest option.

We are waiting on Dr. Kelsch, (ENT), to decided what the next route of treatment could be. Since there’s a chance this may also have resulted from his brain leaking fluid. We’re still seeking the best option for him as we discuss with the doctors.

Will’s vision is still not correct. Please pray with us that either it will self correct or we get to the right ophthalmologist who can help us with this issue.

So, we’ve still got a few more follow ups and decision to make. Please pray that we’ll both know what route to go and use wisdom in deciding. All in all, this is such great news!!!

On a weird note…William can’t whistle anymore! So, looks like he might need therapy after all.

We’re so thankful the Lord is so good to us.

How is he supposed to whistle at you now? That is interesting. I know I was so glad to get all the needles out of me after a couple of days after the twins so I’m sure Will was more than ready. Hope everything continues to improve! You’re doing so great!

God is still in charge- wonderful news. Will be praying for each phase of this getting well process. Fight the good fight both of you and know you are surrounded by love and prayers. Audrey

I hope life returns to “normal” soon for you two. Still, that’s such progress!

Wonder which therapy center does whistle therapy?
We’re thrilled with the progress Will’s made and are so grateful for God’s healing. He is so good to us.
    We love you.
